Randy's Bio
You may like to know a little bit about the person you are trusting to give you the proper, accurate auto repair advice that you need, so... I am from upstate New York where I attended Haverling High school in Bath, New York, until 1977. From there I went to Corning Community College in Corning, New York, where I took auto shop for 1 1/2 years. After college ended (due to lack of funding) my course was cancelled. I went to work for the Steuben County Highway Dept. in Bath, New York, where I worked as a Laborer for the summer. In early 1980, I went into the US Army in Syracuse, New York. I spent 12 Years in the Army. I was a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. While on active duty, I took and passed my first ASE test for Brakes. My assignments included: South Korea, Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri, Ft Carson Colorado and Ft Lewis Washington. In late 1992, I ended my time of service. In 1992, I opened Ace Automotive. I started with only a hand held tool box, a pair of ramps to drive the front of a vehicle on and $800. I worked in a small building in Spanaway, Washington, for 5 years that flooded 6 inches deep every time it rained. Then I moved to Lakewood, Washington, in 1996 where I stayed for 10 years and grew to a three bay shop with three lifts and nearly 1000 loyal customers! During those 10 years I learned much about business. Long days and some late nights were part of the normal routine. I took four more ASE tests, engine performance, steering and suspension, electrical/electronics and L-1 advanced engine performance. I also learned many things about vehicles by the thousands of no-start and various kinds of problems imaginable from these experiences. I have the knowledge to provide you with the auto repair advice you are considering. Unfortunately, I could not overcome the failing economy in the area which forced me to close the shop in 2006. But in those 15 years, I made some real friends and some loyal customers which supported me for many years. To them I say thank you so very much, for without them Ace Automotive would have closed many years sooner. I write this because I think you should know where I come from so, when you are thinking of whether or not to put your trust in me to give you accurate honest advice, you will know I will. Thank you for allowing me to work for YOU!
