"My husband Howard called you last Friday I think (the end of July) regarding his 86 Pontiac Firebird. If you recall, he told you that after he changed the fuel filter the car would start but sputter when accelerating, and then a few days later the car would start but die immediately. You told him it was definately a fuel problem and most likely the pump. He did the necessary steps you told him to do and although he got good fuel flow, the fuel pressure only read about 14-15 psi. So, over the weekend he started working on the car to change the pump and finally last night got it back together. IT RUNS GREAT!!!! He didn't take it out on the road yet cause it was late, but it started up the second time and kept on running with no sputtering on acceleration. The first start it started and died and my husband and I were like, "I can't believe this" but I guess the pump didn't have a chance to pump all the fuel yet because the second time it started and ran. THANK YOU!!!! My husband was replacing parts left and right that didn't even need replacing with nothing but frustration as an end result. We both cannot thank you enough for your advice and will definately contact you in the future if he needs help with anything else. By the way, he mentioned that taking out the fuel tank to change the pump was not an easy job. Alot of steps. So, he's pretty proud of himself being that he's not a mechanic and has never changed anything on a car besides the basics for a tune-up and exhaust. Thank you again." - Justyna
